Indiana reports 40 more COVID-19 deaths and 5,563 cases
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Public health officials in Indiana reported 40 more COVID-19 deaths on Friday and 5,563 more confirmed cases.
The Indiana State Department of Health said nearly half a million people in Indiana have been infected with the coronavirus and 7,431 have died since the pandemic began. Another 339 people are believed to have died from COVID-19 based on clinical diagnoses but for whom there's no positive test on record.
Nearly 5.5 million COVID-19 tests have been administered in Indiana since late February. That includes people who have had repeat tests.
