Apartment building catches fire in Hoffman Estates

No one was injured in a Hoffman Estates apartment building fire that caused about $600,000 in damage Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Shortly after 4 p.m., Hoffman Estates firefighters arrived at the three-story building on the 1000 block of Atlantic Ave. First responders searched the building as they put out the fire and confirmed no residents were inside.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
