Village of Barrington hosts 'Take Santa to the People' holiday parade

The village of Barrington is excited to “Take Santa to the People” with a public safety vehicle parade from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 19, Santa will drive through Barrington neighborhoods on a fire truck accompanied by village vehicles and the merry Christmas music of Bob the DJ.

“We are very excited to welcome Santa to our Barrington neighborhoods on Saturday. I've been told that he is arriving from the North Pole sometime around 10 a.m. and will be driving through our Barrington neighborhoods on a fire truck until early afternoon,” says Karen Darch, village of Barrington president. “Because we were unable to hold our traditional tree lighting and Santa arrival in our downtown this year, it's very gratifying that we can help Santa bring good cheer to our children and families during these most unusual times.”

Watch for Santa to come through your neighborhood! Santa will follow the same route that our fire trucks took on July Fourth last summer.

Visit www.barrington-il.gov/holiday for more information and the parade route! Please note: This event is weather dependent. If the parade cannot be held due to a weather event, residents will be notified as soon as possible.
