College of American Pathologists receives accreditation

NORTHFIELD - The College of American Pathologists has been awarded accreditation with commendation as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

The reaccreditation marks the third consecutive cycle that the Northfield-based College of American Pathologists has received the six-year accreditation term - the longest term ACCME offers.

"Education is extremely important to our members; it is one of the CAP's most valued offerings," said Dr. Patrick Godbey, the organization's president.

As the world's largest organization of board-certified pathologists and a leading provider of laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing programs, the College of American Pathologists serves patients, pathologists and the public by fostering and advocating excellence in the practice of pathology and laboratory medicine.
