Hill fills 2nd Ward vacancy on Elmhurst City Council

Elmhurst Mayor Steven Morley recently appointed Jacob Hill to the city council.

Hill, who was appointed during the Dec. 7 city council meeting, filled the seat last held by Norman Leader, who resigned from office in September due to a change in residency. Hill will serve as the 2nd Ward alderman until the spring election.

A 17-year resident, Hill serves as an associate professor, veteran services officer and librarian of Elmhurst University. He has a history of community involvement and civic participation and significant knowledge community topics, according a news release from the city.

Hill holds a master's of library and information science from Dominican University and a master's of business administration from Elmhurst University.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to support my community and do my part in addressing issues facing Elmhurst," Hill said in a statement.
