Sugar Grove Village President Michels seeks reelection

Sugar Grove Village President Sean Michels has announced he is running for reelection in April to the post he's held since 1999.

In his announcement, Michels cited a list of accomplishments during his tenure, including obtaining a full interchange at Route 47 and I-88, getting Metronet service for the community, the addition of senior housing and attracting businesses such as Jewel, Culvers and Ace Hardware to the town.

Michels, a custom homebuilder, has a master's of business administration degree from Aurora University. He and his wife, Valerie, have four children.
