South Elgin hosts its first holiday lights contest
Are you a traditional or a Clark Griswold house decorator during the holidays? Put your best foot forward and enter in South Elgin's first Holiday Lights Contest. Big homes, little homes, townhomes, apartment balconies are all welcome to join the fun!
To register, visit www.southelgin.com/registration and continue to the log-in and click on search. Enter Section #33613. Enter in the correct category.

Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9.
The voting window will be available online from Friday, Dec. 11 through Sunday, Dec. 20 at 11:59 p.m.
Images of each home as well as an online ballot will be available in the left column of www.southelgin.com/holidaylights beginning Dec. 11.
Website visitors are invited to vote for one winner in each category (Traditional and Griswold)
Lights will be displayed nightly from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11-20. Participants will get a lawn sign with a designated house number for online voting.
Don't forget! Santa can send a letter to your child/grandchild from the North Pole! Just drop off a letter in the Santa Mailbox in the village hall vestibule before Friday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. Santa's letter will be personalized, so make sure children include the toy he/she would like for Christmas, with whom you'll spend your holidays, and all of the good things he/she has done this year. And don't forget to include a mailing address!
