Arlington Heights: Avoid waiting in line, purchase vehicle sticker online

The 2021 village of Arlington Heights vehicle sticker needs to be placed on vehicles as of Jan. 1, 2021. Please consider using other convenient methods to purchase your sticker and avoid an in-person visit to Village Hall, which could result in standing in a line that may extend outdoors due to social distancing measures.

Residents are encouraged to purchase vehicle stickers online at www.vah.com or to mail in a completed form along with payment to Village Hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road. You can also drop off your form and payment in the village's drop-box, located on the north end of Village Hall, adjacent to the Arlington Heights Road exit from the Municipal Parking Garage.

Please know that it may take up to two weeks before you receive your 2021 vehicle sticker. No fines will be given to those who purchase their vehicle sticker in late December and do not receive the new sticker in time to place it on their car's windshield by Jan.1.

The 2021 vehicle sticker design promotes the importance of buying locally. Studies show that when you buy from a local merchant, as much as two-thirds of what is spent gets reinvested into our community.

Please remember to display the vehicle sticker on the passenger-side of the front windshield of all vehicles by Jan. 1, 2021, to avoid penalties. Stickers cost $30 each per passenger car; $12 for seniors over age 65 or turning 65 in the year 2021 (limit one per family); $12 for residents with a valid state handicapped plates, permanent placards or disability certificates (limit one per family).

If you are not able to purchase your sticker online or by using the mail-in form, you may purchase it in person at Village Hall, which is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Village Hall will be closed during the holidays on Dec. 24 and 25.
