Adler at Home Concerts presents virtual concert featuring cellist

The Adler Arts Center announces a free virtual concert by Anita Graef, cello, with members of the Juliani chamber ensemble at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, as part of the ongoing Adler at Home series. Viewers can access the concert online at www.adlercenter.org or Facebook Live.

Described as "a world class musician" by the Galena Gazette, and described as playing with "high energy and polish" by WQXR, cellist Anita Graef has earned recognition as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer.

Recent appearances include Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert series, and Concerts from the Library of Congress. She has also performed in recitals as a guest of various radio programs, including the Young Artists Showcase on WQXR, WFMT, WGTE, WOSU and others.

Graef comes from a family of professional musicians, which has allowed her to perform with an ensemble in quarantine. For her Adler at Home concert, she will be joined by Emily Seaberry Graef on flute and piano and Julian Graef on violin.

The concert will include classical pieces by Hadyn, as well as romantic pieces by Sibelius and Fauré. The Juliani ensemble regularly performs virtual concerts through their Second Friday's concert series.

Free Adler at Home Concerts are made possible by the generous support of Community pARTners and the Illinois Humanities.
