Sheldon leads No. 19 Ohio State women past N Kentucky 96-63
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Jacy Sheldon scored 13 of her 20 points in the first quarter and No. 19 Ohio State cruised to a 96-63 win over Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
Dorka Juhasz added 18 points and Madison Greene 17 for the Buckeyes (3-0), who went 10 of 25 from 3-point range and shot 58%.
Sheldon hit three 3-pointers and scored 11 straight points as the Buckeyes took a 13-5 lead. She added a layup to open a 10-0 run that saw Greene contribute six points to put the lead in double digits for the first time.
Northern Kentucky closed the first quarter with a Kennedy Igo 3-pointer to make it 32-23 but Ohio State scored the first nine points of the second quarter and stretched that to a 16-3 run to break it open. It was 53-34 at the half.
Aaliyah Patty scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Rikki Harris scored 11 to put all five starters in double figures for the Buckeyes.
Lindsey Duvall had 12 points for the Norse, who went 2 of 14 from 3-point range and shot 23.5% in the second half to finish below 30% for the game.
