McHenry County man charged with sex assault, child pornography

A 31-year-old McHenry County man faces multiple charges alleging he sexually abused a child in his care, authorities said Sunday.

Clinton Allen of Union is charged with five counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and three counts of unlawful possession of child pornography stemming from an investigation launched Friday by a citizen's tip, according to McHenry County sheriff's police.

Allen, who is free after posting 10% of a $250,000 bail, is scheduled to appear in court Monday on charges that could land him a mandatory six to 30 years in prison, if he's convicted.

The investigation is ongoing, sheriff's police said.
