Walgreens forms division focused on advertising
DEERFIELD - Walgreens has formed Walgreens Advertising Group, a division to help brands optimize their presence on Walgreens-owned platforms and through other external, brand-safe channels, the company said.
By combining the scale of more than 9,000 stores and millions of loyalty members with advanced data modeling, the division will deliver unique and custom-built audiences tailored to brand goals and objectives, Walgreens said.
"At Walgreens, we have an unparalleled insight into consumers' needs and shopping preferences when it comes to health and wellness items and everyday needs," said Luke Kigel, vice president, Walgreens integrated media and head of Walgreens Advertising Group. Using advanced technology to unlock the power of its first-party data, Walgreens Advertising Group will help brands accelerate their return on investment, he said.
