Medical infusion center opens in Woodridge

WOODRIDGE - Virtis Health said it opened its first Chicago-area infusion center, which is an alternative for the treatment of a range of medical conditions, the company said.

Staffed with licensed infusion-specialist nurse practitioners capable of assessing, diagnosing, treating and managing general and chronic illnesses, Virtis Health's infusion center offers a range of therapy management services, Virtis said. These include, among others, immunoglobulin treatments for primary immunodeficiencies and autoimmune disorders, anti-infective therapies and specialty biologic medications for treating rare and ultrarare diseases.

"We are introducing a much-needed, personalized clinical service to patients and physicians throughout the greater Chicago area," said Sean Tragesser, regional business leader at Virtis Health-Chicago.

The new Virtis Health center is at 10210 Werch Drive, Suite 203, in Woodridge.

Virtis Health now operates six locations, with four in Arizona and one in the Dallas area.
