License to patrol
Friday, Nov. 13, a Daily Herald article described lawmakers considering a plan to make cops get a license. Those considering this change include Kwame Raoul, Illinois attorney general.
Police officers go through rigorous training (14 weeks, 480 hour basic training and must pass a 200-question exam). They are then certified as police officers.
Seems to me adding a license will lead to adding a tax (as all licenses have a tax or fee). And I wonder if approved, do they then do the same to firefighters and EMT personnel? Another Illinois tax? Think about it.
