Camping World to sponsor college basketball tournament
LINCOLNSHIRE - Camping World Holdings Inc. Monday announced a one-year sponsorship agreement with the Maui Invitational, a college basketball tournament moving from Hawaii to the mainland for the first time because of the pandemic.
The Maui Invitational is a premier early season college tournament, attracting top basketball programs across the nation for more than 35 years. The 2020 Camping World Maui Invitational will take place Nov. 30-Dec. 2 in Asheville, North Carolina, at the Harrah's Cherokee Center.
The tournament will also spotlight Camping World's new "Plating Change" initiative, said CEO Marcus Lemonis. The campaign is aimed at providing relief to local restaurants and food to communities. For each of the 12 games of the Tournament, Camping World will donate $3,000 for every three-point field goal made. The funds will be allocated to restaurants in each school's local community to provide free meals to those in need. Funds will also be provided to the Maui Food Bank.
Lincolnshire-based Camping World is the nation's largest network of RV and outdoor lifestyle dealerships.
