Buffalo Grove appoints new public works director

Buffalo Grove announced at this week's village board meeting the promotion of Mike Skibbe to the post of public works director.

Skibbe, who previously served as deputy public works director for seven years and has worked for the village since 1998, succeeds the retiring Michael Reynolds.

The village he board paid tribute to this week Reynolds by reading a proclamation in his honor.

Reynolds joined the village seven years ago after serving with Northfield, Des Plaines, where he was deputy public works director, and Arlington Heights, where he was maintenance superintendent.

The proclamation praised Reynolds for leading the reorganization of the public works department and overseeing the infrastructure modernization program, among other accomplishments.
