Thank you for kindness

I was at a grocery store recently and bought prepared food for three meals for my husband and myself. When I got to the cashier and put my card in, I was told that I had insufficient funds. I knew that was incorrect because I know that I have enough money to cover my expenses. I told the cashier three times to try again but with the same result. I was embarrassed because everyone in line was watching and I was holding up the line. I finally told the cashier that I would just leave the food there.

Instead, I was humbled and surprised when the woman in back of me told the cashier she would pay for my account. I tried to give her what little cash I had, but she insisted on paying. Her only request was that I carry her kindness forward, which I will do.

Thank you again, kind and compassionate woman, I hope you get the Daily Herald and get to read this thank you. Your kindness needs to be acknowledged in these hard, difficult and divisive times.

We need to show one another kindness, compassion and understanding.
