Aurora Downtown to host 'Cocoa Non-Crawl'

Aurora Downtown is re-imagining a popular holiday event as the "Cocoa Non-Crawl," with a smattering of virtual and socially distanced festivities.

Though the usual Cocoa Crawl will not be held Dec. 4 this year, the organization is hosting a "Virtual Plus First Fridays" that will include opportunities to shop at downtown merchants and explore online content, according to a news release. Displays in downtown storefronts will feature trains and other modes of transportation by local artists.

Exclusive 2020 mugs are for sale at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum, Society 57, The Cotton Seed Creative Exchange and Wyckwood House.

Up to 200 mug kits also are available for purchase, containing cocoa recipes and a card for $1 off hot cocoa at participating locations. The kits cost $12 until Dec. 1, when the price goes up to $15.

Community members also have until Nov. 23 to submit cocoa recipes for a 2020 Cocoa Crawl cookbook, published by the Aurora Public Library in partnership with Aurora Downtown.
