Route 60/83 rail crossing closure

The Canadian National Railway crossing on Route 60/83, just west of Diamond Lake Road in Mundelein, will close Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., weather permitting, for emergency repairs, the Illinois Department of Transportation said in a news release.

A detour will direct motorists to Midlothian Road, Gilmer Road and Diamond Lake Road.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
