Bernina dealer earns community service award

AURORA - Bernina of America said one of its dealers, The Quilters Trunk in Chicago, was named among winners of the 2020 Synchrony Pillars Project, which celebrates small businesses that have made a significant difference in their communities.

The Quilter's Trunk partnered with its local alderman's office to give away fabric kits for over 6,000 masks. The store also served as a collection point for masks that were distributed to health care workers, nursing home residents and other high-risk individuals.

The Quilter's Trunk is the only sewing machine retailer to be among the 20 Pillars Award winners.

Bernina of America in Aurora is the U.S. headquarters of Bernina, a Swiss manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines.
