Bartlett man pleads guilty to burglaries of Elgin church, Gilberts business

A Bartlett man will serve 30 months of probation for burglarizing an Elgin church in 2018 and a Gilberts business in 2017.

Travis T. Flight, 29, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of burglary to a place of worship for taking cash and musical instruments from West Ridge Community Church, 3300 Encounter Lane on Nov. 30, 2018.

The cash included money given as tips for musical performers.

Police identified him through fingerprints left on a cash register, according to Kane County Assistant State's Attorney Katy Flannagan.

Flight was out on bond for two other burglary cases at the time.

He also pleaded guilty to burglarizing a Sub Zero Wolf Group warehouse in Gilberts. On Nov. 26, 2017, Flight entered the warehouse through an unlocked door and drove around a forklift, breaking items, according to Flannagan. He will have to pay restitution of more than $11,000 to the company.

Flight was also sentenced to 188 days in jail but received credit for 236 days already served.

Charges that he burglarized a home in Hampshire on Nov. 13, 2017, were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
