Scared away by ad

I saw Jim Oberweis's campaign ad on TV. It's meant to scare us away from Rep. Lauren Underwood. Instead it tells me what a poor representative Oberweis would be.

The ad tries to connect Lauren Underwood with recent riots across the country. The ad doesn't come out and say it, because then the lie would be obvious. Instead they paste her face on the screen with clips of fires and chaos in the streets. Oberweis is searching for a trace of bias or prejudice inside you. Trying to stimulate an unfair reaction instead of a fair-minded thought. Let's disappoint him.

Do not let his dishonest tactic work. Show him that you're better than that. Show him and Illinois that the 14th district is better than that. Teach him to respect the people he hopes to represent, to appeal to what's best in the voters, instead of banking on bigotry.

Jim Oberweis chose the low road. Show him where it leads.
