Bob Larsen's leadership came through again for all DuPage County residents. COVID-19 has had a serious impact on the budgets of fire protection districts and fire departments. Bob made sure funding was available for fire districts the same way it was available for municipal fire departments. In this area, fire districts protect Bartlett, Carol Stream, West Chicago, Bloomingdale, Roselle, Warrenville and Winfield. If it weren't for his efforts, these fire districts would have faced hundreds of thousands of dollars of unexpected and unbudgeted expenses with no chance to recoup them.
Lack of funds result in cuts to training, education, protective gear and other essential items.
He secured $3 million to offset unbudgeted COVID expenses for fire districts alone in DuPage County. This is one more example of Bob listening to his constituents and responding in an expeditious manner to achieve the best possible outcome. This is what experienced and qualified leaders do.
