For common sense on guns

While we struggle to cope with life during COVID-19, let's not forget another raging epidemic that is within our power to control. In Illinois, firearms are the leading cause of death for children, by homicide, suicide and unintentional shootings. Someone dies in our state every seven hours from firearms. School shootings have become so common that districts are holding "safety drills" that are sometimes as psychologically traumatizing as the real thing.

Gun violence is a public health concern and we need legislators in office who treat it that way. I am part of the Moms Demand Action group (dads, too.) and I am doing everything I can to get people to vote for candidates who want common-sense gun violence prevention legislation. I am voting for Mary Edly-Allen (IL-51) and Brad Schneider (US-10) for their strong commitment to gun violence prevention.
