Community Character Coalition of Elk Grove Sponsors Veterans Collection

The Community Character Coalition of Elk Grove (CCC), in collaboration with Elk Grove Village VFW Post #9284 is collecting clothing and toiletries for homeless needy Veterans. Donations will be received at the VFW Post, 400 E. Devon Avenue in Elk Grove on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon.

Donations will be given to the Eddie Beard Vet House, a transitional home for veterans in our area. Drop off will be drive through only. Volunteers will receive your donations-please wear a mask.

Household Items needed: mop heads, Pine Sol or similar cleaners, dish soap, laundry detergent, dryer softener sheets.

Apparel Items needed: socks, men's underwear and t-shirts, all sizes, but larger sizes preferred.

Health and Beauty Aids needed (both regular or travel size): body wash, shampoo, toothpaste

In addition, a 50 bed facility for veterans will be opening this winter so any bedding items to outfit bedrooms with twin-size beds would be appreciated.

Community Character Coalition mission: Promote the Six Pillars of CHARACTER COUNTS! through education, volunteerism and recognition.
