Why we need Trump

The Judiciary Hearing of Supreme Court Justice nominee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, has been most revealing. We have been treated to the inner workings of the Swamp. The Committee clearly did not intend to reveal the Good, Bad and Ugly of doing the people's business. This is a 9th-grade civics class on steroids.

The Good is clearly Judge Barrett as she demonstrated her qualifications and knowledge of the judiciary role while remaining apolitical. Arguably, ACB is even better than Ruth Bader Ginsburg. RBG may have been equally brilliant, but she was the epitome of the activist judge in an era in which the judicial branch donned the robe of policy making legislation from the bench, something the Founding Fathers did not expect nor do we deserve.

The Bad was equally on display. The D.C. Swamp, epitomized by senators untethered by neither age nor term limits: Feinstein, Grassly, Leahy, and Durbin - ages 87, 87, 80, and 75 respectively; and, with a combined 100++ years in the U.S. Senate.

The Ugly, the ugliness of politics, is supposed to be limited to the other two branches - not the judiciary. Even ACB looked like she was having second thoughts. The other bit of political ugliness is revenge. The Democrats know they cannot stop the president and the Senate from meeting their constitutional duties, so they are going to extract a cost, a penalty, a toll, by repeating the same policy talking points over and over, having nothing to do with the Senate advice and consent role.

In summary, we need a Donald J. Trump, much like Clint Eastwood, to tame the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
