Wheeling Park District offers family fun during November

Parents looking for safe activities to keep the kids occupied can find that and more at the Wheeling Park District. Here are some events offered during November.

• Some well-deserved time to themselves is in store for moms and dads who take advantage of Parents Night Out on Friday, Nov. 6. Drop off the kids ages 5 to 10 at 5 p.m. at the Community Recreation Center with dinner. Juice box and packaged dessert are provided, along with a craft and a showing of the movie "Sing." Children are welcome to wear their favorite pajamas. They'll be ready for bed when you pick them up at 7:30 p.m. Register online by Nov. 2.

• Bring the whole family to the second annual Hot Chocolate Walk at Heritage Park Saturday, Nov. 7. Discover the beautiful path around Heritage Park, warm up with hot cocoa, enjoy music at the Performance Pavilion, take family pictures at the designated photo-shoot area and have a chance to win a Health & Fitness Center duffle bag. Register today for one of four available time slots: 9:30, 9:45, 10 and 10:15 a.m.

• Who doesn't love Perler bead patterns and friendship bracelets? Spend the afternoon creating these popular crafts from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the CRC. Register children ages 6 to 12 by Nov. 4.

• Children ages 5 to 10 are invited to spend the evening meeting new friends, playing bingo and creating fall-themed crafts. Thanksgiving Bingo takes place from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the CRC. Register online by Nov. 6.
