Splitting the ticket
I'm writing today to express my approval for your recent endorsements of Biden for President and against the graduated income tax. It should be noted that splitting tickets is a time-honored American tradition and shows voter independence.
As a Republican, I am disgusted with the blatant corruption in Springfield, and the constant bombardment of deceitful, malice-filled ads (paid for by Mike Madigan) attacking good people running as Republicans. I'm also tired of President Trump's antics, and it would appear he is heading toward a self-inflicted defeat while taking down well-meaning Republicans with him.
I'm supporting Biden because I believe America needs leadership that doesn't revolve around the petty nature of Donald Trump. I'm voting against the graduated income tax because Illinois taxpayers shouldn't pay a single penny to a government that is controlled by a corrupt speaker of the House. Voters need to send a message that corruption is not to be tolerated in either party. Partisans are counting on your tribal nature to excuse the flaws of their candidates. Don't let them. Vote for what is right and split your ticket if necessary.
