Libertyville Fire Department offers safety tips online

Fire Prevention Week passed this year without the annual in-station community event, but the Libertyville Fire Department is sharing tips and other information on its Facebook page.

Department personnel talk about fire prevention, kitchen safety, high-rise rescue and other operations. Freddie the Fire Truck, a remote control vehicle, also is featured.

"We just tried to have a little fun with it," Fire Chief Rich Carani said.
