Bicyclist injured in Batavia hit-and-run
Authorities are looking for an SUV driver who struck a bicyclist and then fled Wednesday night in Batavia, according to a Thursday news release.
Police responded to the 400 block of South River Street at 9:46 p.m. after the crash.
The preliminary investigation shows the bicyclist, a 37-year-old North Aurora man, was riding his illuminated bike south near the shoulder on South River Street when the vehicle came up behind him and sideswiped him, the release said.
The vehicle, described as a dark gray or black SUV, is believed to have damage to the rear passenger's-side taillight.
The bicyclist's injuries were not considered life-threatening.
