Bike donation

This past week, Wayne and Matt Mikes from Mikes Bike Shop in Palatine delivered a bike to the Sisters at Little Sisters of the Poor. This is part of the bicycle donation program that Mikes Bike Shop runs every fall to take unused or unwanted bikes and find them good homes.

Mikes Bike Shop has been running this donation program for over 20 years. In this time, they have donated thousands of bikes to the Palatine Township, Palatine Opportunity Center (POC), Arlington Rotary, District 211, District 214, and numerous churches.

Wayne Mikes, owner of Mikes Bike Shop, came across this bike that came in last season for donation and thought it would be the perfect bike for the Sisters.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic happened, so Wayne decided to wait for a safer time. We are aware the Sisters have their facility 100% COVID-free and did not want to interfere with their good work. The bike was cleaned, tuned up, and sanitized before being delivered to the Sisters.
