Trash fire damages vacant Lombard office building
A trash fire damaged a vacant office building over the weekend in Lombard.
Firefighters were called around 1:30 p.m. Sunday to 660 Butterfield Road. Light smoke was seen coming out of the second floor of the office building, according to a news release.
After gaining access through a boarded-up door, firefighters were able to quickly locate and extinguish a rubbish fire in the northwest corner of the building, officials said. The fire was contained to one room.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
