Naperville begins curbside leaf collection next week
The first cycle of Naperville's bulk curbside leaf collection begins next week, followed by two additional opportunities in November.
The free program allows residents in every neighborhood to rake their leaves into the street next to the curb by 6 a.m. on the first day of each collection cycle, Oct. 19, Nov. 2 and Nov. 16. Crews will spend about two weeks completing each citywide collection, depending on the weather.
Residents can track the progress of each collection cycle at www.naperville.il.us/leafcollection, or sign up for notifications via Naper Notify, www.napernotify.com.
The city also offers a free bagged leaf and yard waste collection program from Nov. 2 to Dec. 18, during which residents are not required to use yard waste stickers. Materials can be placed in 32-gallon paper yard waste bags, clearly marked 32-gallon trash cans or clearly marked two-wheeled carts, officials said.
The receptacles must be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. on your normal trash collection day. "Yard Waste Only" labels are available at the Public Works Service Center, 180 Fort Hill Drive.
