Green & Clean Huntley Day set for Oct. 10
Huntley residents are invited to Green & Clean Huntley Day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 10. Entrance to the Municipal Complex events will be at Haligus and Main Street. Except for event traffic, Main Street will be closed from Haligus to Ruth Road.
Please do not exit your vehicle while at the event, volunteers will remove items from your backseat or trunk.
Bring your ID for address verification.
There will be electronics recycling from 9 a.m. to noon or until dumpsters are full at the Municipal Complex.
Only residential electronics accepted. Visit website for a list of accepted items. Due to space limitations only one television or one computer monitor accepted per vehicle.
They also will be offering printer cartridge recycling, paper and document destruction, and ColorCycle Marker recycling.
Drop off any brand of plastic markers, dry erase markers and highlighters. Thank you to Trinity Lutheran Church for coordinating these efforts.
Bring your gently used books to be donated to non-profit organizations. No encyclopedias accepted.
The Huntley Area Lions Club will be hosting an eyeglass collection and recycling.
A fall cleaning dropoff will be held at the Public Works on Donald Drive. Volunteers will be available to assist in unloading vehicles. Please see website for restricted items that are not accepted.
Bring your own containers for a free mulch pickup at Public Works on Donald Drive.
Everyone is invited to join the following activities.
They will be offering Wastewater Treatment Plant Tours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on West Main Street at Kreutzer Road. The tours take approximately one hour. The last tour begins at noon.
There wil be a Culver's Kids Coloring Contest. Pick up a coloring sheet at Culver's of Huntley, Huntley Village Hall, Huntley Area Public Library, or the Rec Center between Sept. 15 to Oct. 10. Bring your best coloring work back to Culver's of Huntley by Oct. 11 to receive a free scoop (no purchase necessary).
