Route 83 rail crossing in Grayslake closing for repairs

Repairs to the Metra Milwaukee District North Line crossing on Route 83 south of Buckley Road in Grayslake will require a full closure starting at 6 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.

A detour will direct motorists to Peterson Road, Midlothian Road and Buckley Road. The work is expected to be complete by 6 p.m. Oct. 15.

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area. Officials are urging drivers to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
