16-Year-Old Passes Several SOA Exams

16-year-old Praneet Rathi is a senior at Adlai E. Stevenson High School who has long held an interest in math, computer science, and economics. In his freshman year of high school, he decided to take the next step in his education of these subjects by signing up for an examination from the Society of Actuaries, an internationally accredited organization for actuaries.

He passed the first actuarial exam, Financial Mathematics or FM, in the summer following his freshman year at the age of 14. Fascinated by this content, he decided to continue studying for and taking the SOA exams, taking Investment and Financial Markets or IFM the summer after his sophomore year, and Probability or P in November of his junior year, passing both of them.

He most recently took the SOA exam- Statistics for Risk Modeling or SRM- in September 2020 and is awaiting that result.

Praneet has always believed in pushing himself beyond limits. He plans on pursuing his passions in math, computer science, and economics in college.
