Cook County Clerk's office can answer your questions about voting

With less than a month before the Nov. 3, Presidential Election, Cook County Clerk Karen A. Yarbrough is reminding voters of the resources that her office is offering to assist them with any of their preelection or Election Day questions or concerns.

"In such a consequential election year and with many people concerned about disinformation, my office has been receiving calls from voters requesting election information that they can trust and rely on," said Yarbrough.

"The Cook County Clerk's Office is that trusted source and we are offering both online and over-the-phone resources for suburban residents to utilize before, during, and after Election Day to ensure a safe, secure, and streamlined experience for every voter."

The clerk's Election Department currently has an automated telephone help service for voters available at (312) 603-0906. Callers are offered a menu of informational services that they can choose from including:

• General information: Office locations, hours and general election information

• How to register to vote: Verify your registration or find your voting locations

• Early Voting

• Vote by Mail

• How to become an election judge

• How to obtain election data

• How to schedule deputy registrar training or equipment demonstrations

Callers can use the keypad on their phone to navigate through the automated system. Voters can also speak to a customer service representative or hear a list of faxable applications that can be sent to them.

Voters can also obtain significant election information on the clerk's website, including the ability to request a mail-in ballot online, at cookcountyclerk.com.

The clerk's cffice also posts the latest, up-to-date voting information on social media channels. Voters with additional questions or concerns can send a message on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

Yarbrough reminds suburban Cook County voters to be aware of the upcoming dates and deadlines for the Nov. 3, 2020 Presidential Election:

• Oct. 6: Voter registration closes for deputy registrars and local election officials

• Oct. 7: First day of grace period registration and voting

• Oct. 18: Last day to register to vote by online application

• Oct. 19: First day of early voting

• Oct. 29: Last day to request a mail ballot

• Nov. 2: Last day of early voting/grace period registration and voting

• Nov. 3 (Election Day): Last day mail ballots can be postmarked.
