Kirk Players presents 'An Evening of Mystery'

Submitted by Kirk Players

Kirk Players enters a new arena with their first virtual event streaming live on YouTube, offering audiences a spooky and electrifying evening of entertainment.

Kirk Players will present three separate performances at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, via livestream on YouTube.

"I am delighted to present three short stories that piqued my interest as I searched through old, famous radio plays," Director Patrick Blake said.

"Each story is distinct in style, but plays to the overall theme of the show. We did not wish to go with a Halloween theme, but being near Halloween, we did go with some mystery. I hope the audience will enjoy them as much as I do."

In "My Dear Niece," Mrs. Rogers lives a quiet life: a quiet widow with quiet friends in a quiet town. When she puts out an ad looking for employment, she receives a mysterious offer that seems too good to be true. But when a client appears on her doorstep who may not be who he claims to be, can Mrs. Rogers solve the mystery before it is too late?

"Love, Honor, or Murder" opens with Helen, tired of her life as a housewife stuck at home. But when her husband, Harry, brings home $12,000 he found in the cab he drives, she sees an opportunity to escape that life. Harry wants to return the money, but Helen comes up with a plan to let them keep it. Will Harry follow through with Helen's plan? Is the plan a good idea in the first place?

In "The Horla," Lorre, a wealthy woman, suspects she is being controlled by a supernatural entity. As she investigates what this strange force could be, she becomes increasingly obsessed with it, worrying the people around her. Is it all in her head, or is it real? And if it is real, how can she defeat it?

The streaming link will be posted to the Kirk Players' Facebook Event page, fb.me/e/2RGNgbddL.
