A charity 'home run'

With the growing amount of families and individuals who are need of food and support, St. Emily's Church in Mount Prospect and the Knights of Columbus on Sunday, Sept. 6, had their food drive to help this very serious cause, and their parishioners hit a 'home run.' They contributed 2,313 pounds of groceries. The Knights of Columbus distributed this amount to the many areas in need.

St. Joseph the Worker Helping Hand Food Pantry was our first drop-off, plus other stops in the Mount Prospect area. Aside from the groceries, there were donations of gift cards and checks that where given to Catholic Charities.

Yes, a 'home run' for sure, and St. Emily's church and the Knights of Columbus again thank all of the parishioners for their tremendous support. God bless them all, and thank you.
