Naperville man charged with illegally selling guns
A Naperville man is charged with illegally selling guns, including two that were later determined to be stolen.
Mohammed Haq, 38, of the 2700 block of East Gateshead Drive, is free on $10,000 bond while he awaits trial. He faces one felony count of gunrunning.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was investigating illegal gun sales in Aurora, and identified Haq as a suspect, officials said. He is charged with selling nine guns between Sept. 13 and Oct. 11, 2019.
Haq was arrested Tuesday.
"Investigating and prosecuting firearm trafficking is important to ensure firearms are kept out of the hands of prohibited persons," ATFE Special Agent in Charge Kristen de Tineo, of the Chicago Field Division, said in a news release.
Haq's next court date is Oct. 15.
