Endorsement: Krishnamoorthi for Congress, District 8

If anyone didn't know Raja Krishnamoorthi before, they know him now.

His role as a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in reviewing the impeachment case against President Donald Trump made him a familiar face on national TV.

Viewers around the country saw the affable, incisive, common sense lawmaker with a seriousness of purpose who won over suburban voters with his first election to Congress in 2016.

GovTrack rates him as a purple politician, not so much blue or red but someone who tries to work with the other side.

Up for reelection in the Northwest suburban 8th District, the Schaumburg Democrat is running without Republican opposition.

Instead, he is being challenged by Libertarian Preston Nelson, an anti-war activist who is centering his campaign around deep cuts in farm subsidies and promoting healthy diets.

Krishnamoorthi's the clear choice and he wins our endorsement.
