Ross says Baez not only Cub frustrated by no-video rule

Javy Baez lashed out at Major League Baseball's move to ban the use of in-game video on Monday. Cubs manager David Ross conceded Baez is not the only player on the team upset about the change.

"He's definitely the only honest one in the group," Ross said with a laugh. "I would say it's impacting more than just him. To their credit, it's hard to get up in front of you guys and make excuses. I don't think a lot of guys want to do that, so they're trying to take ownership of their at bats.

"He (Baez) is frustrated and I don't think he's using it as an excuse. I just feel like there's elements to a season and a baseball game that we all use as tools. We start taking some of those off that you feel like are a big part of your success, it's frustrating. Trying to navigate how to do without a real tool that you use to succeed, in-game adjustments, it's been tough for a lot of guys."

Pitchers in rehab:

Injured starters Tyler Chatwood and Jose Quintana threw at Wrigley Field before Tuesday's game. There's no word yet on their return, though it could be soon.

Left-handed reliever Andrew Chafin, who was on the injured list when the Cubs got him in a trade with Arizona last week, is also throwing off the mound.
