Are you a conservative?

I consider myself to be conservative. Some of the Trump supporters I know say that they support Trump because they are conservatives, but there may be other leaders who better embody conservative views.

Trump is not conservative of life - his mishandling of COVID caused the total rate of death in the U.S. to rise. Trump has not conserved families - he created a policy to separate immigrant families without the ability to reconnect them after the innocent children are incarcerated. True conservatives believe in fiscal discipline, but the U.S. debt began to skyrocket after Trump's tax plan was implemented and it has continued to soar to ever more dangerous levels since, now exceeding $26 trillion ... almost $7 trillion more than when he took office.

A better example of a political figure with a conservative approach is Illinois congressman Sean Casten. In his first term, Casten has already emerged as a leader of conserving the environment with detailed plans on energy strategy and Climate Change. Casten leads a conservative and respectable personal and family life. Casten has applied his business experience to be fiscally conservative in government spending recommendations, which I witnessed during his infrastructure investment planning session.

If you consider yourself a conservative and as a default, identify with the Trump Republican Party, it may be time to take a closer look at whether their actions and behaviors actually line up with your core beliefs.
