St. Charles police conduct death investigation at park near Fox River
St. Charles police conducted a death investigation at Mount St. Mary's Park near the Fox River Monday, but police officials said the investigation "is not criminal in nature."
St. Charles Police Sgt. Robert Vicondi said there was no threat to the general public. He said police arrived at the park Monday morning and had left the scene by Monday evening.
Vicondi said he was aware the death investigation was creating attention on social media but said he wasn't allowed to say anything more about it at this time.
"We are not doing a press release as this is a private, family matter," Vicondi said when asked for details about the body.
Mount St. Mary's Park is a 23-acre park south of downtown St. Charles and has around a third of a mile of shoreline along the Fox River.
