The ideas that still must be tackled

As a die-hard Bears fan, Brian Urlacher's statement was tough to read.

I wish Urlacher was clever enough to realize that the passing of Brett Favre's father's death and racism are not the same thing. There's nobody responsible for Irvin Farve's death.

Jacob Blake's tragedy is an unfortunate trend which includes police murdering unarmed Black individuals. These tragedies are affecting the entire Black community

Urlacher, do you not think it's a problem when Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old boy, was shot for playing with a toy gun while Kyle Rittenhouse was able to walk past police after shooting and killing two people in Kenosha, only to be arrested the next day without a shot being fired?

NBA players are trying to tell us that people of color have not been treated equally by law enforcement for generations. NBA players are doing what they can to bring change.

Urlacher, you were fast enough to tackle NFL players such as Mike Vick and Reggie Bush. Heck you even tackled balding with all those annoying Restore billboards in Chicago.

If you don't start speaking with your former Black teammates like Matt Forte and Rashied Davis and talk to them about what it's like being a Black man encountering law enforcement, you won't be able to tackle racial inequalities, just as you were never able to tackle Jerome Bettis.
