Discovery Health acquires Consova's payment integrity business

ITASCA - Health care payment solutions company Discovery Health Partners said it has acquired the payment integrity business from Colorado-based Consova for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition expands Discovery's data mining expertise and capabilities, officials said in a release, and adds to the company's capabilities to provide technology and advanced analytics to its portfolio of payment integrity solutions for health plans.

"The combination of Discovery and Consova deepens our data mining and analytics expertise while expanding our growing client footprint," said Discovery CEO Jason E. Brown.

Among the assets Discovery gains through the acquisition are a team of medical claims analysts with a track record of accuracy in overpayment findings and recoveries; a set of unique, proprietary algorithms and process automation that combs through data in medical claims to select those that are most likely billed, coded, or submitted in error; and a list of top-10 health plan clients.
