Fire damages Oak Brook house

A Tuesday night attic fire caused moderate damage to a house in Oak Brook, officials said Wednesday.

Oak Brook firefighters responded about 9 p.m. to the house on the 0-100 block of Yorkshire Woods. When they arrived, they found the blaze in the second floor and attic space of the two-story house.

No one was injured during the fire, which was brought under control by firefighters in less than a half-hour, officials said.

The fire was contained to the area of origin, according to a news release. The house remains inhabitable.

Officials said the cause of the fire hasn't been determined.

The department requested extra help fighting the fire due to the high humidity and outside air temperature. Sixty-two firefighters were at the scene, including those from the Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Lombard, Oakbrook Terrace, Villa Park and York Center fire departments and districts.
