Stop by Taco Census Thursdays in Elgin

On Thursdays through Sept. 24, Elgin Census 2020 is hosting "Taco Census Thursdays" from 4 to 7 p.m. at Los Comales, 965 Dundee Ave., Elgin.

Stop by the Census table on designated Thursdays to fill out your Census form.

Participants will receive a $5 Los Comales gift card for each person in their household who gets counted. Gift cards will be valid for 30 days and cannot be used the same day you receive it. Not available for use on Tuesdays.

It's not too late to fill out your Census form!

Every person who is counted represents $1,500 in funding from the federal government every year.

Some of the federal assistance programs that receive funding based on the Census count include: Medicaid, SNAP, Section 8 Housing, National School Lunch Program, Head Start/Early Head Start, Special Education Grants, and more.
