Missing Festival of the Vine? Try Geneva's Sip and Sample

Geneva residents and visitors look forward to Festival of the Vine every year. Due to Phase 4 regulations, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce is not able to hold this award-winning festival in 2020. However, it is bringing something different to September to satisfy food and wine lovers.

Sip and Sample Through September is a ticketed event valid for Sept. 1-30. Purchasing a ticket for $20 gets one person a glass of wine or beer with a sample appetizer or dessert pairing at a participating restaurant.

"We thank the community for supporting our restaurants, the Geneva Chamber and Geneva businesses," Paula Schmidt, president of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release.

Ticket purchases are not limited; however, only one ticket per person, per seating can be used. Each ticket will be turned in to the server upon seating. Participants are encouraged to make reservations during the restaurant's normal business hours.

Tickets are valid through September at all the participating restaurants:

• 1910 BAR

• Aurelio's Pizza, Geneva

• Cafe & Barr

• Craft Urban

• The Dam Bar & Grill

• FoxFire Restaurant

• Gia Mia

• Livia Italian Eatery

• Niche

• Nobel House

• Nosh

• Stockholm's

For a list of food and beverage pairings offered at each restaurant, see genevachamber.com.

"After enjoying a paring, we invite you to stay and order off their menu. You may discover a new 'go-to' restaurant," says Laura Rush, communications manager for the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

Tickets can be ordered online at genevachamber.com and mailed ($1 extra) or picked up curbside at the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, 8 S. Third St. For those picking tickets up, proof of purchase is required and pickups can take place during business hours - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.

Allow 24 hours for processing tickets if picking up. Tickets can only be mailed until Sept. 20. Ticket sales will end at 10 p.m. Sept. 30, and tickets are only valid Sept. 1-30. No refunds will be issued; participants must be 21 to order.
