Cook County Clerk offers new Email Signup Tool

As part of her office's #TrustedInfo2020 efforts to encourage voters to receive important election information directly from election authorities, Clerk Karen Yarbrough recently announced the new Email Signup Tool. Visit www.cookcountyclerk.com/service/email-signup-tool.

The tool allows any registered suburban Cook County voter to sign up for various email notifications from the Cook County Clerk's Office regarding:

• General election information

• Your official election mailer

• Polling place changes

• Election Day information

• Cook County Clerk's Office newsletter

While convenient for voters, this new tool also saves money for the taxpayer. By emailing official election mailers and polling place change postcards rather than using the U.S. Mail, every registration for the Email Signup Tool will save residents' tax dollars.

"In these uncertain times, with information constantly changing and evolving, voters deserve certainty and transparency when it comes to their participation in our elections," Yarbrough said.

"While suburban residents can find a wealth of information on our website, you can't beat having the answers sent directly to your inbox."

Registered voters can visit cookcountyclerk.com/email to register for the Email Signup Tool. The information needed is the same provided when registering to vote, so sign up is quick and easy.

After registering for the tool, voters simply have to choose which email updates they wish to receive. Users can always change their email preferences by logging in with their registration information and clicking "Modify Preferences."

Voters should also be aware of the other election-related resources from Clerk's Office at their disposal, such as online Mail Ballot Applications, the Your Voter Information Tool and, once early voting begins, the Early Voting Wait Time Viewer.

For Suburban Cook County residents who are unsure if they still need to register to vote or update their registration address, visit cookcountyclerk.com/RegisterToVote.
